Deep Thoughts

Which of these 2 pictures do you find to be the loveliest?

So I was just reading The memorial to President Hinckley that was in the last Ensign and somethings made me think ... I know deep thoughts ... I promise this doesn't happen so often anymore, it seems I am always shrouded in a cloud of momisms that distort my thinking leaving only a small variance of thoughts ie. PB&J, grocery lists, diapers, Dora ....

So he was talking about changing our focus and looking more at the positive things in life and less at the negative things. He said we should let the sun shine in more through the clouds.
So, then I thought when do we see a bright sunny cloudless perfect sky and say wow that is beautiful? usually we put on our sunglasses or shade our eyes from the brightness.
Even this sepia toned picture is amazing when you see the sun peeking out from among the clouds, it is more interesting, more colorful, more beautiful. We need the clouds of life to provide balance and variety. As miserable and even damaging as the storms they bring may be the clouds are vital.
Which leaves us in the very position that we wanted to be to begin with - able to choose. I can choose to sift through the clouds of my life and find the sun, each ray of light and enjoy it for all that it is.
The true miracle is that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can give and gain forgiveness, cleanse our hearts, and make us whole. When it is hard to stop dwelling on the negatives of our lives, He will help us to do what seems impossible: forget, forgive, let go, move on, change our feelings, change our hearts. We just have to ask, we just have to make that choice.
I guess maybe this is inspired a little by the arrival of Easter - with all the eggs, chocolate, beautiful dresses, flowers, Potatoes and ham ... I try always to remember my Lord and Savior in all things.
