My Goals
This week
- take my meds at every meal !
- exersize at least 3 times this week
This Year
-Play every song in the hymn book
-I haven't decided if I want to play them in order and check them off, or just check them off as I play them randomly.
I like to set goals for myself that I know I will enjoy working towards. 2 years ago I set the goal to learn how to use chop sticks. The next year my goal was to eat more sushi and find a few things that I like - and practice using those chopsticks!
I want to set a goal to reach and maintain a certain level with my blood sugar - but I have been so frustrated and discouraged with this process that I don't want to mess with that. I guess I am a little pathetic, oh well. I do however need to choose a way to reward myself, and not with food! Everyone tells me that I should do reward myself.... That is hard. Should I buy a pair of sunglasses that I will probably lose or get smashed by the kids. Or, I could buy a decoration, or a new purse. Cute running shoes or walking sandles might be good, functional and fun. I guess I will keep pondering that one, need to find motivation that is about ME and not about the kids.
I think rewarding yourself with something you can display in your home is a good idea. It will remind you of your accomplishment and give you the motivation to keep going!
ReplyDeleteWhat about a vellum-letter quote to put directly on your wall or on a piece of wood? (Do you know what I'm talking about?) It could be an inspirational quote.
Or, a framed picture of your family to remind you what you're working for. A healthy momma is the best gift you can give your girls!
Or, take a trip to Dallas to see us! That is my particular favorite.
Awww! Emily just gave me an awesome idea!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBecca, You and I could travel to Dallas together! You can go see Emily and I can go see Sarah! Just a thought. But, I have been talking about going there. So maybe we can leave our boys to the kids sometime... :)
