Recently I took out the scrapbook my Dad made for me as a little girl. Isabel loved looking at it, seeing how I colored similar to her when I was 5, the locks of my hair, pictures of me at preschool and all kinds of wonderful things.
Well, looking at my scrapbook made her want one of her own. Scrapbooks today are an entirely different experience than what my Dad made for me - and I have not been able to find any book quite like what I had. So, we finally ended up with a 12 x 12 scrapbook album.
I figured I would get some of her school work out in the morning and we'd work together to start her scrapbook. I guess I didn't realize the magnitude of her excitement. She began searching the house for favorite things like yogurt, lip gloss, balloons... She also made a cute picture of a carnival and then told us... "See, when I want to go to a Carnival and you guys won't let me, then I can look at this picture a remember what it's like, sigh..."
Hey cutie... you can't find any books like your scrapbook because I'm sure Dad probably MADE it himself. I can't see him buying a scrapbook. He is very inventive and creative like that!
