The Bad Santa ... baking & Hannah Montana

Holiday Baking
We finally got around to doing our Christmas baking -2 days before Christmas - so now whoever is still in town gets the whole shebang!!! Lucky them!!!

Since I am challenged in the kitchen - AKA - Microwave Compatible - Matt does our baking
-ESPECIALLY any baking we want others to eat. In my defense I have produced food that is delicious - the problem is the time it takes for me to do it (as opposed to the time it SHOULD take) and the state I leave the kitchen in. So, Matt did our baking today and enter Becca just in time to decorate cup cakes - the part I love. And of course the girls think they should get to help too. Just as I think I have a whole bowl of frosting, decorator tips and an untouched canvas of 2 dozen cupcakes to freely express myself upon the squealing starts! Sharing is soooo hard! Does anyone else have this problem?

HM
The cupcake sugar rush wound us all up enough for an amazing Hannah Montana concert, with mood lighting and everything! Alex danced for 7 - count 'em 7!!! songs all on her own, the hands on the hips, the bootie shaking, the sassy look in her eyes AND cranking the music even louder at her favorite parts KILLS me! OMG she is only 3! We just need to get her over her stage fright (because she isn't shy at any other time???) and she's going to be my little DIVA one way or another.

Another highlight of this night for me was doing Can Can kicks with my girls! Woo Hoo! I love how there are always so many 1sts when you have kids! It was great, we held hands, I told them what to do and we did it! We all kicked the same direction, some what rythmically, and well, WE ROCK!

Finally, (and I didn't think I had much to say)

The Little Elf

I got this idea on the internet and tried it out today with great success...
The mom and dad got an ELF doll and staged several incidents with the "naughty elf" that snuck into their house. There were several scenerios like he escaped from Santa, fell out of Santa's Sleigh, came to spy on the kids, etc....

So our elf, took all the socks and hung them from the Christmas tree, left the Santa hat on top, and got himself stuck on the tree in the process.
Then, he tried to help himself to a snack and got stuck upside down in the bucket of granola bars.
We then vowed to put the Elf back in his spot by the stairs and keep a closer eye on him.
Next, we found him hanging out of a Christmas Stocking and during dinner he somehow got into the cupboard, got his head stuck in a cup and the door shut on his leg.

Since we are now deeply engrossed in Horton Hears a Who (well most of us anyway) - I wonder if next the little Elf is going to have a cookie and fall fast asleep on the stairs with a little trail of crumbs on the floor and all around his mouth????
