We don't see many squirrels round the parts - we haven't many trees and none tall enough to accommodate a squirrel. Most that I see meet their maker on the boulevard any how. This pretty red squirrel made the most of my bird seed as the snow started to fall.
We discovered a drip
played pumpkin snow soccer
licked the hose scicle - well Izzy did anyway

made snow angels
went sledding
and can you beat swinging in the snow?

Todays snow was meager - a fine cold dusty powder - good for sledding - not so much for snow balls or snow men.
While it is still very dry - tonights booty will be a much greater delight as it has been falling for hours now!
I marvel at mother natures blanket - grateful for mail men who drive trucks kindly leaving yards smooth and unspoiled like fondant icing on a cake.
And yet, I miss the snow on our house in Kansas City ... the way the branches of the pine trees sank to the ground under the weight of the snow, the private woodiness of our winter wonderland yard, and most of all the white light pole that stood in our front yard.
In winter we would always wrap it with red ribbon and hang from it a bow tied bough with greenery. It was a veritable scene straight from the north pole. I will see if I have a digital picture of that - that would have been from another camera...
Here is a little glimpse in the corner - and a sweet flashback to Izzy at 2 1/2!

Fun pictures! It took me a few seconds to recognize the snow on the deck. It seemed too perfectly formed, but I remember our deck looking like that from time to time back in MO.
