We keep a notebook in the car and write down the addresses
of our favorite Christmas Light displays.
This year we gave out
Holiday CD's candy canes purchased at the dollar store
and a note telling them what they won and why.
Previously we have just mailed the award or
left it on their doorstep anonymously.
This year we knocked at the door
which was FUN because the people we gave them too were SO surprised
AND confused because they had no idea who we were.
Other years it has felt like just another one of Becca's crazy ideas
to which I insisted on dragging everyone along.
This year - Izzy got bit by Mom's crazy bug
and decided that we needed to have criteria by which to judge the lights
1. Must have more than 2 colors of lights
2. Must have lots of details
3. Must have blow up things or moving animals in the yard
So we decided we would have a kids pick and a grown-ups pick.
We were a little whimpy and lost our list and ended up just picking our neighborhood favorites
but, driving around in the cold singing Christmas Carols and listening to our 4 year old squeal
details, details, details,
was really fun!
