The Story, The Sickness that is my life, Wondering why there is no mention of chocolate here?

This is the story of life at this moment.
It is not good.  But neither is it bad.  It just is.

2ish weeks ago I responded to a post on my friends blog.  I entered the lovely code, and BAM the entire thing was deleted.  Why? Why does this only happen when I have written a novela and can't imagine beginning again, from the beginning at that moment when my fingers are just done!

After some contemplation and several days longing to have a moment to re-write it - I decided that my thoughts were actually blog worthy on their own and decided to write my own post.  And here finally, amidst the throes of familial disaster by way of bike vs. pavement, I find myself with a quiet moment and choose to forgo any other responsibility I may have right now and write the darn post!!!!  IF, for no other reason than because I am also determined to write something that is not 100% Max centered before I am once again besieged by my obsessive adoration of the little pipsqueak.

So, let me begin, yes I know this is already somewhat of the middle rather than the beginning, I know! But, you have noted the title of my blog right?  I have never alluded to being succinct, concise, brief or non-verbose.

YES! Wring out your hands, pull your hair, throw your head back and growl, sigh......

OK

I know many fine ladies who are truly Domestic Diva's, Fashionista's, Awesome Mamma's, Frugal Geniuses and Fabulous Fun Friends.... all at the same time, YES I KNOW jealous!!! Meee tooo!
One thing I have always tried to study and understand and emulate from these fine ladies is having a laundry system.   I mean it seems to make sense, you pick a day to be laundry day.  You wash it all.  You dry it all. You sort, hang, fold, match and put away it all. Then, the next day you go on with life.  Other ladies do very well doing a load here and a load there and putting it away as they go.  And life for them goes on during laundry!  IMAGINE!!!!

I am weak unto laundry.  I am beginning to believe that it is a disease.... severe adult onset laundry disorder.  AND it is highly contagious and spreads quickly, and it mutates and manifests itself in a more disturbing fashion among your immediately family members.

We notoriously wait until there is nothing left, no under things, no socks, no pants, 1 shirt that we've already worn 3 days this week.  Then we wash it.  On a good week it will get washed 1 time and moved to the dryer.  Then we will live out of the dryer, or perhaps a basket, or perhaps the pile on the dining room table.  On a normal week we will wash it.  Then the next day we will re-wash it.  Hopefully, we only re-wash it once.  But sometimes it is more.  Generally, it is an utterly ridiculous 3 week cycle before it all gets to where it should be.
(Here the cats are helping to make sure it has to be RE-WASHED before being put away)

Being heavily impressed upon last week with thoughts of laundry, I actually managed to get ALLLLLL of it washed and dryed and removed from the dryer ALL in THE same DAY!!!! Miracle of Miracles.

Ok well, here comes the sort of twisted part.

There the laundry will sit. And sit. Or maybe we will move it, and it will sit.  All of it that is, except the new stuff, the cute stuff and very specifically the BABY STUFF.  Because you see, all of Max's clothes are always washed, folded, sorted, matched into outfits, hung up and tucked away in their drawers.  Because there is nothing I love more than baby clothes....

Well ok except for planning cute clothes.  I have been known to photograph our clothes.  At the beginning of the school year, I sort all the clothes into outfits and take pictures of them for easy reference.  Same thing for vacation. It is a fun fun thing.

In high school I would keep a list of what I wore to school so that I didn't repeat things too often.
I also dressed up on Fridays so that I would be remembered cute instead of bummy.
I like my friends idea of THEME WEEKS,  I could totally get into that.
Actually I have been having a theme for 6 months now .... bummy, bummy, stretchy,
WE NEED A NEW THEME!!!

Here are more of my ridiculous outfit pictures.

  1. Oh Becca! I always knew you were a lady unto my own heart, but now I know- WE ARE SOULMATES. :D

I'm so proud of you and your laundry! As I write this, I am in fact surrounded by half-folded laundry that was rewashed three times.

Thanks for your honesty. I am not a laundry lady myself. Maybe someday. Maybe never.

I love your outfit pics also.

    You are great.
