So tonight our special friends Cody and Joyce are here visiting with their 4 kids from Kansas City. It is so good to be with old friends! It is so good to open our home to so many people! We have had so much fun having company now that we have the space! I really need to get off my kiester and start the guest book that I have wanted to make. I thought it would be neat to have a picture of each family/friend who has come to visit in an album with the dates of their visit.
Just like if you were to visit some famous old Inn or bed and breakfast and they were to tell you Ronald and Nancy Regan stayed here in 1985, or this is the room where Abraham Lincoln's great Niece stayed on her wedding night (just making that up randomly). I have purchased a sheet set for each family that we expect to return occasionally as well. I guess I love playing host.
Right now I am listening to 3 month old baby Elizabeth crying that sweet I am a newborn but I am in charge cry. I loved kissing her head and smelling that sweet powdery fresh baby smell. I guess it is the knowing that I can't have one right now that makes me want it even more.
It is nice to know though that when the baby cries I don't have to get up and feed her that I can stay right here in bed. It would be smart if I was actually asleep but that would ruin all my fun growling at the sun or my husband in the morning!
I am looking forward to the happy child reunion in the morning while Cody and Joyce are at the temple and we are watching the happy chaos unfold!
So, bring it on folks! Pack your bags and make the 3 1/2 hour drive and come see us! Go to the Temple. Go to the Zoo. Let us feed you gourmet breakfast and grilled or smoked meats. Let us watch your children as they play with ours! Hotel Secor is open for business.
Brigitte Rennick and Andrea Nugent - you two come to mind specifically! Andi - I know you are swamped with starting your own company and all so I will give you some slack! Brigitte? What's your story? Come on girl - you promised to show me your old haunts and go shopping! I know where to find you! C'mon, they do even play volleyball out here.....
