A friend and a mom who I really respect lent me this book - the Parenting Breakthrough.

I am only 1/4 way through but I really love the principles she puts out there.

As a parent I often feel like there are many things for which I have no frame of reference - my background being such as it was.... I have a great deal of experience having 6 younger siblings, babysitting for years, working as a Nanny for several years, and a good background in Child Development and Education... but none of those things really prepare a person for what it means to be a parent, to fall in love with your own child, to be torn between giving and teaching, to be a human jungle gym.

I will report back when I have finished the book. I intend to wait to implement any changes in our routine until I have finished the book. I tend to get ahead of myself when I get excited and things can backfire.

My girls are such a miracle in my life. I want so much for them, just like any parent does. I guess most parents probably feel inadequate from time to time, it's those darn weaknesses that require us to call on the Lord (Ether 12:27).

Guess we will see how it goes.
