I will be taking out my Brainweb 5000 tonight to suck out the dark and empty corners of my cobweb encrusted mind. Maybe that will help. Only time will tell.

In the meantime I will leave you, my trusty throng of devoted readers, a few pieces of wisdom which I have garnered from my 3 year old over the last few days.
Brace yourself, life as you know it will never, be, the, same.
In her own words....
1. Life jackets also keep me safe from lightning!
2. I need some chocolate milk so I can breathe under water!
3. Bad guys wear hats that say "BADGUY" so you always know who they are
(I know I used that one before but a list of 2 seemed really lame)
AND - because I know you are dying to know about my latest redecorating scheme I am deciding to force myself into a ramble.
The girls spent approx. 1 yearish sharing a room. It seems longer than that - but since we've only lived here just over 2 years, and they began their life in this house of haunted halls with separate rooms, I guess it must be so.
So, just before school started, Izzy, in her 1st major declaration of independence, took over the spare, spare room. So I figured it was a good move seeing as how she would be having a different schedule from Alex with bedtime, school etc.
The only problem? I had seriously just weeks before, FINALLY got their room all cute and decorated just how I liked it! Seriously!
With Izzy now in the Blue on Blue room it was evident that a change was necessary - so we finally painted the darn thing. Knowing that we probably won't live here that much longer I decided to go with the common sense approach and we painted her room what we know as Johnson County Beige (all you JoCo friends are nodding and ahhhing right). So then we went with what else? A horse theme! After a lot of searching I am mighty pleased with the results.
Pictures
3 were torn from a horse calendar purchased for $1.00
1 was painted by yours truly
Curtains and rods and tie backs from Walmart for a total of $20.00
"fence" used previously as headboards we purchased from craigslist for $5.00 each
chair, bookcase, lamp, nightstand we already had
horses galore that Isabel has collected over the last 5 1/2 years
1 can Kilz - $20.00
1 can paint - $20.00
Oh yeah the mirror, hand me down from Grandma Secor
So for $78.48 we did a total room makeover - beat that HGTV
Cute room! I was confused of what room it was until I read on because the blue was gone. How fun. How long will this one last? Brandon knew right away... he asked "is that the blue room?" The kids like it and now are anxious to go see it!
ReplyDeleteIt is way cute! Its like she has her own little Meadow! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Becca, I LOOVE the horsie room!
