so the Twilight phenomenon is sweeping the nation and I have not heard a THING about it! I must be reading the wrong blogs because no one is reporting.
Of course from my bunker here in kid la la land I don't watch t.v. so my only connection with the outside world is through all my blogging friends and the news clips on my yahoo mail home page.
Yes, yes, I was tempted heavily to join the groupies at the midnight premiere, but I finally stood my ground... (oh and yes it was sold out).
I have long had a philosophy that
…anything to which large droves of people are amassing, I do not want to be a part of, at least not the amassing part. Partly for the fear of being trampled and partly for the desire to not be a puppet.
Besides, I ran out of money and haven't ordered my
La Push cliff diving team tshirt yet!
Therefore - in the spirit of trying hard to appear as though I am not just another one of millions of vampire crazed women and girls - I am anxiously eager to relive the experience. Eager because I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the complex characters in the story. Anxious because I don’t want my image of the characters to be swayed by the trendy, teeny bopper movie cast.
Sometime in the few days I will find myself comfortably embedded in dark stadium seating, straining my neck, wishing I had remembered to look for my glasses, ACHING for a coke, and watching the credits roll.
Maybe I will finally know for certain if I am an Edward or a Jacob kind of girl.
And you my dear readers will hear the TRUTH about Twilight (yes it is all up to me) and God help me should I swoon. UGH!

Eeeeeeeeee! (excited girly squeal)
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard anything either. I'm planning going to the local theater tomorrow. I'll probably wear the tee-shirt I made for the breaking dawn release...because I'm such a geek (see my Aug 2nd blog entry for a pic)! I may be 33, but Twilight brings out the 13 year old in me. Ha-ha.
