I have 6 girls in my house, painting nails, dancing, cake baking, not as much squealing and running in circles as there used to be. Not too much longer and they will be entering the quiet zone, even the ones that declare they are NOT going to sleep, they don't know what they are up against!!!

I just used flour for like the 3rd time in my life - and guess what? I found it in an airtight container in the cupboard. How lovely! And even better I made a cake and no one is the worse for it! Seriously! It smells good and looks good!

So we went to one of my favorite birding destinations - and except for some Pelicans and distant Commorants it is anti-climatic, but a bea-uuu-tiful day! I was bothered by these fish we saw... seems to me they wouldn't wash up in big piles like this. This is my biggest problem with hunters, it's not the hunting, it's the wasteful, disrespect for life. It's the turning the killing of any creature into a sport or a game. In my not so humble opinion, your mind has to get a little twisted to kill something for the fun of it.
And tires? In the water? C'mon people, seriously.

Our mini stay-cation to Downtown St Louis was truly FABULOUS.
80 degrees made for a delightful carriage ride, a walk around the arch, a jaunt through City Park, and a delicious Irish lunch at John W. McGurks. SUPER FABULOUS was Ladlane straight from Ireland. Tres cool!
Izzy dancing in front of the Missouri river.
Some of the loot from the Pot of Gold scavenger hunt.

For her mommy time a few weeks ago this is what Alex wanted... a pedicure and icecream.
Loving his toes - sooooo cute!
Been trying to get this picture forever, don't why it came out so cool this time, but it did!
This is max in the swimming pool. It was cold so I soaked towels in the hot water from the hot tub and covered him with them. He swam for a while and became much happier but this look was priceless.... the resigned look of one facing a life time of forced submission to sisters and mothers, and eventually girl friends and wife! Poor thing!ccsa

ReplyDeleteAre you reading Their Eyes Were Watching God? Its a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time in St Louie :)
I don't know that book - I will have to check it out!!!
ReplyDeleteWe read The Help for Book club and it was VERY good too.
We reminisced about our visit with you and Nate to St Louis! It is a foggy memory for Izzy - but we really haven't gone back there much since then.
Remember the area where we took our pics w/ the Arch in the background? They made a new City Garden there with lots of statues and mazes and green spaces, it is cool.
