Wrapping it up

So, in the last 3 days I didn't so much as even get to go to a local park to count birds - life is just that way sometimes.  The birds here at our new house are plentiful and fairly consistent - so I do have nice numbers to report.  The cute thing is that most of them are already paired up and busy with their being paired up duties.

In his lovely way of always making things come out right - Matt suggested that we watch THE BIG YEAR tonight.  A perfect movie to wrap up the Great Backyard Bird Count Weekend - and get me dreaming about someday 18 1/2 years from now - doing my own BIG YEAR.

Birds I would love to see:

The Snowy Owl
Northern Shrike
Vermillion Fly Catcher
The MILLIONS of Snow Geese at Squaw Creek
A pluthera of Arizona Hummingbirds
Warbler Migration - Fallout at the lighthouses in Maine
