AM I A MOVIE CRITIC?
So, before the movie began she asks me if I am a movie critic, I am always caught off guard by thoughtful questions, so I kinda shrugged and said, "I don't know". Well, I will let you be the judge.
So there are only a handful of movies that I can actually stand to see for a 2nd time... unless it was a truly remarkable movie and it has been like 10 years since I have seen it.
I hate violence - but I love action, mystery, and political intrigue. I LOVE MATT DAMON! So all that is a bit conflicting because it is hard to get it with out the violence.
Anything that makes me start to sing primary songs in my head or think about President Hinkley - I usually know I shouldn't be watching it and my spirit is trying to protect itself.
Because of certain situations in my life I am no longer able to handle sappy romances, emotional drama's or anything that might make me cry - just can't go there anymore.
Finally, I do not do stupid comedy. Slap stick, gross stuff, foul humor, no way.
Ultimately my favorite movie is one that takes me by surprise, sucks me in quickly through excellent character development, makes me think, inspires me to write, gets me on a soap box, etc.
MY TOP 5
So at the top of my list are these movies
A Beautiful Mind - Psychology, surprise and thinker movie
Sliding Doors - Never saw it coming, total surprise to me
Stranger Than Fiction - I was squirming in my seat for this one, it is so me!
Harry Potter - we read the books out loud to each other to prolong it and I cried when Dumbledore died. I felt that bond with the characters that I like.
and the kicker is ...
Multiplicity - I consider this a stupid movie - but man does it make me laugh so, can't argue there right!
Ok, so the real reason I am even talking about this is because of the movie that I just saw with Kara. It was amazing!

So, as we left the theater all I could think about was waking my girls, throwing some sequins on all 3 of us and cranking up Dancing Queen. Crazy! I never even knew anything about Abba before this movie.
Ok, so this is the ultimate chick movie. The music was so drama queen girly. The setting in Greece, picturesque. The intrigue and the devious scheming - so girly. There was a ton of dressing up crazy, singing, dancing, jumping on the bed!
Then there was this whole racy, naughty side to it; sexual in a naive and innocent way. In fact I would say it takes sexy to a whole new level with the fully, modestly dressed, plain, older woman dancing on the table to Take A Chance On Me, and the people watching her hooting and hollering. That was a great statement about sexy is as sexy does - it's all in your attitude girly girlies!
Oh what else did I love......? How about the groom in a jacket, bright aqua dress shirt, unbuttoned to just above the navel, dark skin showing through - at his wedding! standing at the front of the church!
Or, the 1/2 dressed, tan, ripped, Grecian men in masks jumping from the roof tops, crashing the bachelorette party, swooping the girls off their feet.
Or, the same way hot group of like 50 guys that come out of the woodwork singing as they do in musicals, but this time they are wearing tight swim trunks, speedo's, and all manner of ridiculously sexy swim wear. They all run onto the dock and begin to dance and they are all wearing flippers!!!!!!! OMG! I was dying!
So, truly great movie for any girl who wants to relive her naughty days, longing for a good jump on the bed, a sequined tutu on her head, music to die for and hunky men to ease the pain.
The real question in my mind is - could a guy even stand to watch this movie?
Okay so if you are a guy, and you actually make it to the end of this post, tell me what you think!
