So - Do you make New Years Resolutions?
If you do what are they? Do you keep them? Etc.
If you do what are they? Do you keep them? Etc.
I resolved a couple of years ago to make resolutions that I know I will WANT to achieve.
I know that I will work, worry, beat my self up over, everything else all year anyway...
So, the last few have been
2006 - learn to eat with chopsticks by having Chinese take out or other
2007 - now that I am proficient with chopsticks learn about good sushi restaurants & start eating!
2008 - play every song in the hymn book at least once
2009 - I haven't decided yet between
a.) READ READ READ everything I can get my hands on that is funny, spiritual, uplifting, my scriptures, and more - I need to get my creative juices flowing
and
b.) find the background music to my life (you might remember this from time out for women) and write about it often on my blog
I need to think about this I guess - I learned a while back in therapy that it is helpful to have something to look forward too and I sometimes have a hard time with that! So, it is great to have this little resolution! Nothing big like catching up on scrapbooking or photo albums! It has to be simple, fun, achieveable.
STOP! HOLD EVERYTHING! I FIGURED IT OUT JUST NOW!
Thank you to my dear sister Lisa who is talking to my husband on the phone right now and they triggered this thought for which I am going to get a lot of grief but here it is.
This year
2009
I am going to get someone to help my husband carry our brown sofa upstairs to our bedroom so that at least I if I am going to sleep on the sofa I can sleep close to him!
Woo Hoo!
Now, it may seem to some that this is a resolution that will be done and over with and leave me with nothing else to do but, for those of you who have witness my addiction to rearranging you know that this will only seriously complicate things.
The hard part of it is still going to be making myself sleep there. See I have a ridiculous problem back that hates sleeping in a bed. We are on our 3rd mattress with no luck. So after a night or 2 in bed I am dying. BUT I like being close to my hubby! But! just 1 night on the sofa helps my back so much.
Okay anyway, so that is it.
I like the idea of only having one resolution. That is probably my problem. Hum. Now the question is what can I cross of my list!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should get rid of your bed all together and just put two couches together. Matt can sleep on one and you on the other and then you will be really close. You can call it a "couched". I crack myself up.
